Abigail has been having a really hard time in the church nursery. Most Sundays she goes in great but as she sits and plays with the workers and other kids she has good periods and bad periods. Obviously the bad periods consist of her melting down into uncontrollable tears. (The ones that after settling down turns into hiccups and full body shakes.) After being held for a while she stops crying and then plays some more before going through it again. This then happens when we pick her up after church. It's like she has an emotional release and sigh of relief when she sees us.
She has been going into the nursery consistently for a few months and even has the same wonderful workers with her but still it is tough. Since EVBC goes for about 1 1/2 hours we have been leaving early the last few weeks to give Abigail a rest and see if this will help her.
I know she is fine and that the workers are fine but I just pray that she becomes more comfortable being away from us and playing in a different area with people she doesn't know that well.

I remember when we worked in the nursery (same age as the girls are in right now), there was a little boy who completely lost it from the time he was dropped off until the time that his Mom would pick him up. Literally. Almost every week one of us working in the nursery had to stroller him outside because he would get so upset. But then all of a sudden one Sunday (after a couple months or more of this happening every single week), he was totally fine and had a ball in there! He ended up being one of those babies we would be SO excited to see each week because he was so much fun!
I'm sure the same will happen with Abigail! This seems to be the age where that anxiety happens, but the good part is that it IS a stage...it won't be forever!

Yep, Noelle is right, hang with it! She will for sure come to love being in class and seeing her Sunday School teachers and playing with new toys. This next Sunday is the first Sunday of the school year, so Abigail will see the same volunteers for the next 9 months :).
Hang in there, Girl!!!! Chase went through periods of crying at church, too. Soooooo hard! He loves going now & runs right in! Abigail will get the hang of it soon, too!!! :)
