birthday thoughts

Today Abigail officially turned 3. I found myself thinking back in the past with Abigail.

For her birthday dinner we went to a local Mexican restaurant. The men came and sang happy birthday to Abigail, gave her a huge sombrero to wear and fried ice cream which they fed her a few bites!
Great memories Abigail.

birthday party...3

This weekend we had my family over to celebrate Abigail's 3rd birthday. Yes, 3. I am in awe of how time has gone by and by how big Abigail is getting. She is so beautiful, inside and out.

Abigail was very excited to have a party. We grilled burgers and hot dogs.

The weather was just perfect so we played outside. Kate brought her dog, Sam, and Abigail had fun throwing him his ball. Rachel was captivated by Sam and made cute sounds and facial expressions watching him.

It was funny to watch Abigail open presents. She went fast ripping the paper off and putting the gift aside so she can open another one. We all laughed as she seemed in a daze.

Abigail was given a new baby doll who she quickly named her "Haven". I love that and I wonder how she got that name!

I think watching Abigail as we sang happy birthday was the best part for me. Her face was precious and full of joy. She loved every minute of it. Afterward she got her request of having cherries on her cake which she ate and licked all the frosting off, leaving the cake behind.

We also celebrated my sister who was born on the 28th as well, just 25 years earlier! Happy birthday Kate!

Does anyone remember this dress? Abigail wore it to her first birthday party. I just love seeing Rachel wearing it now. Brings back good memories. In just a couple months we will be having another birthday party.

When I asked Abigail what her favorite part of her party was she replied "the balloons".

smiles

I love summer days. It makes all of us smile. Especially Rachel. She is 10 months old now and smiles all of the time. She has a happy spirit.

We were happy to have Jake's parents and our nephew Wyatt come for a long weekend.

Rachel likes standing up in her car...just not with her sissy.

flower shop

When I look out my kitchen window I see the most beautiful flower garden. It's not mine of course, it's our neighbor's Mr. Roger. Yes, we have our very own Mr. Roger and he is as sweet as can be. He is retired with the passion to garden and he does a wonderful job. I had to do a photo shoot with the girls since right now so many of the flowers are blooming!

My flowers and plants are doing good too. I have so many that I don't even know all the types. When we decided to move here I wasn't exactly excited. Jake encouraged me to find something to be excited about and before we moved I found that in being able to have flowers. So when I look at these pots I get a little excited at how nice they look!

Independence Day

On the Fourth of July we went to my parent's house and celebrated our freedom. In their city there was a festival in the park where kids could go on train rides, play games for prizes and even get pony rides. Abigail did a cake walk game and brought home a fresh apple pie! Rachel was sick this weekend with an ear infection. It was her first one and although she was a trooper she was a little tired.

Jake bought some fireworks with the girls and they both loves watching the sparks fly. We were happy to see how much Abigail enjoyed them, especially the snaps, snakes and flowers. Rachel grunted a lot when they would go off too!

My parents have pink sand. It's fun to play in and super fine. For some reason Rachel thought it was good. She ate more pink sand than I think I want to know!
Happy 4th of July!
God Bless America!

water days

We got our little pool out but it was too cold for Abigail so I put hot water in the water table and she climbed right in. We love playing in the water and running around the sprinkler.
