must have shower

My alarm clock in the morning is Abigail's moan letting me know she is awake. Our morning routine is pretty basic with breakfast, seeing Daddy off and getting her dressed. At that point I have the "must have hot shower" feeling going through my body. Abigail joins me in the bathroom where she gets out her "busy bathroom box". This is what our bathroom looks like after I am done getting ready for the day:
It's her box filled with baby cards, pictures and other cards she has received. She loves looking at them. She also gets distracted by the toilet and toilet paper....

tongue curls

On the late night shows they sometimes have silly human tricks on. I think that Abigail would qualify for going on the show. Except it's not silly but just plain adorable. She loves to curl her tongue. She has been doing this even before she learned to sit up.
The only thing is that Abigail won't curl her tongue on command. After asking her to show me she just stuck out her tongue. It wasn't until a little while longer she decided to curl her tongue for me!

valentine loves

Our Valentine's Day was relaxing and nice to spend as a family. After church we had a big breakfast at our house with some family and friends. Later we stayed around our house and played outside. It's warm enough to play with bubbles, water and put on sunscreen. I am also seeing that Abigail will need some new summer clothes. She sported a short skirt that wasn't so short last fall!

I hope you had a good Valentine's Day!

special moments

As a Daddy, Jake has a very special connection with Abigail. It's one that will be totally unique even after the new baby comes. They have their special moments together that only they have. We eat most of our meals together. It is a blessing that Jake goes to school so close to home. This morning Abigail ate her breakfast early however even on those morning she will still sit with her Daddy.
Her special bond has even moved to her Papa Wayne. We are so happy that her Grandparents are spending some of their winter with us. This weekend Papa babysat and for most of the time Abigail sat in his lap and they read book after book.

(This book is one of her favorites! It was free from the hospital)

Jake's birthday

Birthday's are fun. Even when you get older like Jake and I. On his actual birthday Jake's dinner consisted of his favorite carry out pizza, Barros. The next day we had dinner with some of the family and ate his favorite pumpkin spice cake. Did you know that canned pumpkin is hard to find right now? But thanks to Vonda Jake's birthday was saved.
Reason # 83 why I love my husband.... Instead of blowing out his candles with his mouth he fanned a napkin. That was so he wouldn't transmit bacteria from his mouth to the cake.

Happy birthday Jake! I love you.

little bitty news

Guess what?

We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our family!
We are ecstatic about this baby that will make us a family of 4. Life is truly a blessing. Jake and I are full of joy as we pray and think about our new little baby due early September! Seeing and hearing our baby's heart beating was incredible, especially since baby was the size of a blueberry. Now baby is the size of a grape and I am so thankful for His blessing that will also make Abigail a big sister.

"Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." Psalm 34:4

birthday bash

It was Ella's 6th birthday and a time to celebrate her life.
Ella's Mom is Jake's cousin and they live near us. Our Arizona family and some of her school friends went to Pump it Up. It's a large room full of bounce houses, blow up slides, balls and climbing walls.

The kids run & jump and have fun. Abigail too. She loved being with all the big kids and in the toys. It was hard to get photos with the mesh screen protectors but she came out all smiles and red in the face.
Notice something special? Jake's back, for good this time AND Abigail is with Grandma Jude! Abigail took a break only long enough to be held by Thomas (who she really likes) and Grandma (who will be with us for a while).
After bouncing, the kids had drinks and cupcakes. Caleb is Abigail's best bud and they walked around holding hands and sat next to each other for dessert.

Abigail enjoyed her little cupcake and attempted to eat it with a spoon. She did a good job licking the frosting. It's not every day or week that she get a treat like that!
Later Ella opened presents and had pizza. She was soooo into her presents. It was classic. She was so happy and I just loved being there for her party and for her.
The cousins: Alicia, Abigail, Caleb & Ella. ( Micah was out sick today)

Happy Birthday Ella!!
