About 7 years ago Jake went back to school for his undergraduate degree.

3 years later he got accepted into dental school.

That was 4 years ago when we moved to Arizona and Jake started dental school. (7 years total and we have been married 6 of those years.)

And this past weekend was Jake's graduation.

Words really can't express how happy and excited I am for Jake. He has been blessed with the ability to learn and understand procedures that I can't even pronounce. Jake has incredible passion for dentistry and is completely ready to start practicing. It has been far from easy but Jake handled the intense education without trouble.

Graduation pictures will come soon but here are a few pictures from the last 4 years:

Year One: Jake spent every free moment with his nose in a book. Night, weekends, afternoons after class... This was before Abigail and I would join him in the library and read books too so we could be together.

Year Two: Although more class they were also introduced to the Sim Clinic and started working on mannequins.

Year 3:
Clinic work on actual people. Here Jake is giving his classmate an injection.

Year 4: Full time clinic work and 5 rotations to outside the school dental clinics.

Awesome! The only bummer about this is that now that you're leaving, we can't have Jake as our own dentist...and I could really use a good one. =(

Such a huge accomplishment, and definitely something to be proud about!

I am so happy for you guys, but honestly I'm hating the end of this era since you're leaving...

Congratulations Jake and Erin! We are so happy for the both of you. Jake, a job well done! You will be a terrific dentist with so much compassion for those up and coming white knuckle patients. Great job, Erin. You did a most excellent job supporting Jake on his road to fulfilling his dream of becoming a dentist. Now the 3 of you soon to be a family of 4 can look forward to a new chapter in your lives.
